Many Farmers in the Australian Fresh Produce industry are doing it pretty tough at the moment. The recent sabotage scare targeting a NSW strawberry grower could have a huge impact on that industry off the back of our farmers already struggling as a result of the drought. In recent years the banana industry suffered as a result of Cyclone Larry in 2006 and has bounced back to the commitment of our growers. It’s time to really come together and remind ourselves of what a fabulous fresh produce industry we’re lucky enough to have right here on our own shores.

At All Wheels we are massive supporters of the Australian Fresh Produce industry and wanted to take some time to celebrate our amazing Aussie fruit and vegetable growers. From the exotic Northern Territory growing mangoes, pineapples and passionfruit, fruits such as bananas in Queensland, the sunshine state and to the huge variety of produce grown across the country including oranges, apples, bananas, chestnuts, potatoes, blueberries carrots and tomatoes.

Of course there are also our wonderful wine regions in the Hunter Valley, the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills, Coonawarra and McLaren Vale to name only a few.

There is pretty much nothing Australia cannot grow or produce. Less than 10 per cent of our retail food is imported and two-thirds of its land is given over to farming (Australian Tourism)

We support many of Sydney’s fresh produce wholesalers including the fabulous Sydney Direct Fresh Producewho in turn support our growers by bringing fresh produce to the homes, cafes and restaurants of Sydney. From humble beginnings, the businesses pride themselves on their real, authentic local feel and have now grown to be one of Sydney’s premier fruit and vegetable providores.

“Our experience in the market and in dealing directly with growers ensures we can provide the highest quality produce to our customers on time and in the best condition. One of our aims at Sydney Direct is to consistently supply our clients with the finest fruit and vegetables available in Sydney all year round.”

Whilst we are lucky enough to be able to grow so much of our own diverse range of fresh produce in Australia, as import and export arrangements become more prevalent, many of our industries find themselves in decline. At All Wheels we will continue to support our homegrown produce and we hope you will do the same.

All Wheels Refrigerated Truck Rentals are proud to support Sydney’s foodservice industry throughout the year to get their fresh produce from A to B in perfect condition.
